Firefox 12 Browser Is Released For Downloading

Mozilla's Firefox, the popular, open-sourced Web browser is celebrating their newest release.



Version 12 is now available for downloading via the Web. Firefox is a free alternative to Apple's Safari, Google's Chrome and Microsoft's Internet Explorer browsers. There are Firefox versions available for many computing platforms.



The new app contains a bunch new features (like line numbers for the page source) plus a bunch of software upgrades (for URLs pasted in the Download Manager), fixes (various security tweaks) and improvements (such as to the “Find In Page” feature).



But Windows users will notice the biggest change: “Silent” Updates. According to the Firefox Change Log, Windows updating now consists of one less prompt in the “User Active Control”.



On our test platform, as soon as I opened the “About Firefox” page the update began downloading. Pressing the “Upgrade” button finished the process in seconds.
